Beyond the Black: Reclaiming Your Life from the Grip of Suicidal Thoughts

Suicide is an alarming issue in the present world. Every year, almost 700,000 people commit suicide. But most of them seek help before taking their own lives, and they want someone to save their life. Surprisingly, there are lots of people around us who are potentially suicidal. They always think about suicide, and some of them make a complete plan for attempting suicide. You can be one of them. So, let’s reclaim your life from the grip of suicidal thoughts.

What are the causes of suicidal thoughts?

Most potential suicidal people try to find out the root causes of suicidal thoughts. It’s a confusing state. Most of the causes of suicidal thoughts can be divided into two types.

  1. Clinical Illness
  2. Emotional Imbalance.

Clinical Illness:

Severe depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), bipolar disorder, and related psychological problems are the serious causes of suicide. These clinical problems keep us in a mentally imbalanced state. We have to depend on the medicine. Sometimes, we forget about ourselves, and the present situation remains intolerable. As a result, we try to attempt suicide.

Emotional Imbalance:

Life is full of uncertainty. We have no control over the daily issues. We can lose our favorite person at any time, our hopes can be broken down, we can lose our assets, our partners can cheat on us, our grades can be down, etc. Anything can happen at any time. This type of highly emotional event badly impacts our brains instantly and can destroy our self-control. The feeling of emptiness makes us crazy, and we make an instant plan to commit suicide.

Types of suicidal thoughts:

It’s surprising but true that suicidal thoughts can be classified into two types based on frequency and potentiality.
  1. Active suicidal thoughts.
  2. Passive suicidal thoughts.

Active suicidal thoughts:

Some potential suicidal individuals are very deeply thinking about their suicidal attempts. They make their own plan for a successful suicide attempt. They fixed the time, place, techniques, and other related issues. These types of thoughts are highly risky, and they need instant support; otherwise, they can commit suicide at any time.

Passive suicidal thoughts:

Passive suicidal thoughts include recurring suicidal thoughts. These remain just thoughts, not plans. This type of thought repeatedly plays on our minds and motivates us to make a suicidal plan and execute it.

You should think about the stages. These will help you learn about your level of vulnerability.

How can you fight with suicidal thoughts?

It’s a very important stage for you to fight with suicidal thoughts. Let’s make a healthy plan for you to cope with suicidal thoughts.

Be sociable:

Loneliness is a killer for you. When suicidal thoughts play on our minds, we want to separate ourselves from others and try to be isolated. This is a very bad and harmful practice for mental health. When you’re passing through a critical time, you need social support. They can be your family members, friends, lovers, colleagues, or someone who is trustworthy. Try to believe them and spend your time with them. That will distract your suicidal thoughts and help you recover.

Self-love:

It’s an injustice to you when you neglect self-care and self-love. Self-love includes:
  • A healthy diet plan
  • Physical exercise
  • Do your most desired work
  • Watch your favorite movie
  • Listen to your favorite song
  • Read your favorite book, journal, magazine, or blog
  • Body massage, spa and other beautification
  • Travel to your desired destination

These types of activities may give you relief from heavy mental stress and help you to love yourself. You will find the actual meaning of life.

Final words:

Suicide is not a matter of joke. You are so precious to your family and friends. So, your life matters. If you’re going through a very critical time, just follow the above advice and get immediate support from a psychologist or psychiatrist. Also, for emergencies, you can call the emergency call center in your local area.

Let’s do them and be happy.
